What are acceptable materials/products to put in a composter?

Answer:
The following is a list of acceptable materials/products:
  • Fruit and vegetable peels/remains
  • Meat and fish remains
  • Soft napkins and tissues
  • Tea and coffee grounds including filter bags
  • Dairy food remains, bread, cakes, eggs and eggshells
  • Flower compost and plant waste
  • Garden waste, lawn cuttings, moss, prunings, dead leaves and bark chips
  • Animal and pet droppings
TIP
Material over 2"( 5cm ) in diameter or 10cm in length should be cut into smaller pieces to prevent bridging in the compost, eae mixing and accelerate the decomposition process.
